I would be remiss if I hosted a celebrity role model blog and didn’t talk about the Osmonds. Stop laughing.

My love of the Osmonds began when I was very young - I had it bad for Donny and, really, the whole Osmond family. Even when I was a big haired metal lover in the ’80’s my heart still belonged to Donny and I followed his and his brothers’ careers while my friends all laughed.The Osmond are celebrating 50 years now, kind of hard to believe they’ve been around that long, but I’m rather happy for it.

While watching the Osmonds on Oprah I was very impressed at what a tight knit group they are. The parents were married 60 years and all the Osmond brothers have long, happy marriages with lots of kids. Though Marie has been divorced a couple of times, not one of them has been in trouble with drugs or scandals.

So laugh at me for bringing up the Osmonds, but in this day and age, aren’t these the type of people we’d like to see our kids emulate?
